Driver's Eligibility Certificate
As of August 1, 1998, North Carolina has new legislation that reflects a coordinated state-wide effort to motivate all students to complete high school. Students must maintain adequate academic progress (successfully pass three out of four classes per semester) towards a high school diploma or its equivalent to receive this certificate.

To obtain a Driver’s eligibility certificate call your school’s contact person or leave a message in their box with your name and telephone number. They will call you back to make arrangements for you to pick up the form. You must be 15 and have completed driver’s education. School transcripts can be requested in the office. A parent or guardian must pick up the driver’s eligibility certificate. The certificate is only good for 30 days so it should not be requested until you are eligible to get your limited learner’s permit at the DMV.
